Drs. Anderson & Tran’s New Chapters

Drs. Cheryl Anderson and Mai-Anh Le Tran recently published two chapters in Black Scholars Matter : Visions, Struggles, and Hopes in Africana Biblical Studies, edited by Gay L. Byron and Hugh R. Page. According to the publisher, this book, “collects the presentations of the twelve leading Africana scholars…Representing various institutional settings-research universities, free-standing seminaries, Historically Black Theological Institutions-they share perspectives on biblical studies and their experiences in the discipline.” The book is separated into three parts: “Visions and Struggles,” “Lessons and Hopes,” and “Accountability and Next Steps.”

Dr. Anderson’s chapter is titled: “The Struggles: A Personal Reflection” and is included in Part One: “Visions and Struggles.” Dr. Tran’s chapter is titled: “Come Join Us, Sweetheart!” and is included in Part Three: “Accountablity and Next Steps.” We encourage you to check out these chapters as well as the many others in the new book, available online through the library.
