Your NetID, GETS ID, & MFA

Accessing Electronic Resources Off-Campus

Northwestern Library Resources

Due to licensing agreements, off-campus access to electronic resources is restricted to current students, faculty, and staff. When trying to access resources, you will be prompted to enter your NetID and password. Your NetID is your access account through Northwestern. The most common format of a NetID is a combination of three letters (often related to your name) and three or four numbers (e.g., abc1234). Your NetID is different from your six-digit student/employee ID number.

Styberg Library Resources

Some resources are only accessible to Garrett-Evangelical students, faculty, and staff. When you find these items in USearch, you will be prompted to enter different credentials than your NetID. Your username will be your Garrett email, and your password will be the same as your email password. The page will look the same as the Outlook email and Moodle login pages.

How to Use Your NetID & GETS ID

Registering Your NetID with MFA

You must register your NetID with a separate device to authenticate before accessing library resources. You have several options to authenticate, including a separate phone, email, token, etc. To learn more about this, see the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) page.
